Bernadette Dezzara (born 28 February 1948 in Ozone Park Queens New York) is famous as an American actor, singer, and writer of children's stories. In her career, which spans more than five decades, she has appeared in musical theatre film and television and has also performed on her own and in recordings. She's been nominated to 7 Tony Awards and won two and eight Drama Desk Awards. She has won Grammy Awards for four of her Broadway recordings of cast. Peters started her acting career with stage work in the 60s when she was a teenager, and later in the 1970s, she worked in TV and film. Her early stage performances and also for her TV performances, which included the Carol Burnett Show The Muppet Show as well as Annie. In the 1980s she returned to the theatre where she became one of the best-known Broadway actors over the next three decades.
